Trento – the most beautiful town of Trentino-Alto Adige region

Many routes to the Dolomites pass through the town of Trento (or Trent in English). This small town is located near the border, between Italian and German-speaking areas of the Trentino-Alto Adige region.

Trento is the administrative centre of this region, after which the region is called, and it is also the most beautiful city of Trentino-Alto Adige.

Its Latin name Trento is associated with The Council of Trent (1545 – 1563), on which the Church dealt with the kind of protection against increasing power of Lutheranism.

Several council meetings were held in the Trento Cathedral (Duomo), where you can admire the beautiful stonework facade.
