The story revolves around the Castle of Malcesine Scaliger (well-preserved home and museum of Natural History, Local History, the Venetian galleys over the room dedicated to the living room of JW Goethe in Malcesine) and the Palace of the Captains of the Lake of the Venetian Republic . Two historic buildings, but still alive and vital, cultural two containers where we organize theater performances, music concerts, art exhibitions, and where they celebrate more than 300 weddings a year, mainly British couples conquered by the magic of the place, of light, of colors.
Malcesine is the most characteristic of the countries of the lake, different from all, with its rocky outcrop, overbearing, emerges from the water, overlooked by the towering castle that acts as a guard to the old town below, of medieval origin, with its narrow streets and cobbled squares, ports, and faces, the tiny and colorful shops, pubs, studios, restaurants, taverns, ancient houses leaning against each other, the stone walls, courtyards and gardens, picturesque views, bustling atmosphere packed of tourists.
The landscape is dreamlike, the view is one of the most fascinating: Malcesine lies between the shimmering waters of Lake Garda ranging from white foamy waves of the deep blue, from blue to silver and gold bright and hot summer sunsets and Monte Baldo, which stands majestic and wild, woody and rock to over 2,000 meters of the highest peaks.
The climate is mild, in fact affected the salutary influence of the lake in winter temperatures rarely drop below freezing, so that thrives lush Mediterranean flora of olive trees, citrus, palms, oaks, oleanders, bougainvillea, and in summer a pleasant breeze and a temperature not too high nor sultry makes it pleasant and stimulating stay.
And ‘the ideal place to satisfy the desires of every guest and tourists: those who want to rest and relax can unwind in quiet walks along the lake or inland path from easy trails and roads through olive groves from which can be glimpsed views of enchantment or relaxing rides on comfortable bike paths, or some invigorating swim, or climb one of the many boats to nearby Brescia side or for mini cruises on the lake, dive like reading, shopping, stroll around the village and sit, all ‘open, one of the many cafes, bars and pubs to watch your step and consume some specialties.
