Marche is a mountainous region that completely captivate lovers of romance. It is part of an area known as the Palm Riviera. Palm Riviera is the name for the Adriatic coast in a wide area around the town of San Benedetto del Tronto, which is situated about 100 km south of Ancona.
From the entire Palm Riviera you can see the highest ridge of the Gran Sasso d’Italia, which top is covered with snow until May. The capital of the Marche region is Ancona. Marche is a picturesque and romantic mountainous region. The dominant feature of Urbino is definitely the Palace towering over the city.

Another attraction of Marche region is the largest cave complex in Europe, called Frasassi. It measures 18 km. Frasassi were created by the river Sentino.
